What are the recertification assessments?

Modified on Fri, 6 Mar at 3:53 PM

The recertification assessments are paid online activities that include:

  • Self-paced training on the changes made to the recommended training over the last two releases
  • An online test

Notes:

  • You must complete the self-paced training and pass the online test.
  • The cost of the recertification assessment will vary. The fee entitles you to three test attempts. If you require more attempts, you must pay for the recertification assessment again.
  • Recertification assessments will not be available for new exams.
  • Recertification assessments will be available after at least 2 versions of an exam have been released.
  • A limited number of recertification assessments will be available starting on July 15, 2026. On July 15, 2026, the following exams will have recertification assessments:
    • NSE 4 FortiOS Administrator
    • NSE 5 Secure Wireless LAN Administrator
    • NSE 7 Network Security Architect
    • NSE 7 SASE Architect
    • NSE 7 Cloud Security Architect

More recertification assessments will be added in 2026 and 2027.  If a recertification assessment is not available for an exam, you must pass the next version of the proctored exam or pass a different exam to recertify. Additionally, to recertify, you must satisfy the corresponding prerequisites. For more information, see What options will I have to renew certifications?
