What are the FCX certification validity and issuance details?

Modified on Fri, 1 May at 9:06 AM

After a pass grade is confirmed for both the Core and Elective exams, the NSE 8 certification is valid for two years from the date the Elective exam is passed. A digital exam badge is awarded for each practical exam passed. The Core module exam badge will be awarded for 1 year to indicate its validity as a prerequisite for the Elective exam module. The NSE 8 Certification badge and certificate are the same, regardless of which Elective module is passed. You will receive a unique certification number that will act as your NSE 8 ID. You can use this ID to identify yourself to other NSE 8 members and other technology market professionals.

The FCX certification date is fixed to the date the examinee passed the Elective practical exam. This is the date shown on the certification plaque and the physical certificate shipped in the certification award box. If the candidate keeps the certification valid by successfully recertifying, the only change will be the expiration year; the day and month will remain unchanged. The initial certification date is the date used to determine all future certification and expiration dates, on a three-year cycle. Upon successful recertification, the new certification and expiration dates will be based on the initial certification grant date, regardless of when the recertification requirement was achieved.

The Core exam module is the qualification exam for the Elective module. Lower-level certifications will be renewed, if unexpired, when the NSE 8 Certification is achieved.
