You will be issued an NSE certification badge and certificate for each active NSE certification awarded. Your FCF, FCA, FCP, FCSS, and FCX certifications will remain in your certification history. The transition paths of certifications from the current version to the new version, as of July 15, 2026, are as follows:
- If you have an active FCF certification:
- You will be awarded the NSE 1 and NSE 2 certifications.
- The issue and expiration dates for the NSE 1 and NSE 2 certifications will match those in your FCF certification.
- If you have an active FCA certification:
- You will be awarded the NSE 3 certification.
- The issue and expiration dates for the NSE 3 certification will match those in your FCA certification.
- For all your active FCP certifications:
- You will be awarded an NSE 4 certification based on having passed the FortiGate or FortiOS exam, regardless of the date you passed.
- You will be awarded an NSE 5 or NSE 6 certification based on the July 15 mapping of your historical exams to the certification tracks, regardless of the dates on which you passed.
- The issue and expiration dates of the NSE 4, NSE 5, and NSE 6 certifications will match those in your respective FCP certifications.
- For all your FCSS certifications:
- You will be awarded an NSE 6 or NSE 7 certification based on the July 15 mapping of your historical exams to the certification tracks, regardless of the issue or expiration dates on your original certifications.
- The issue and expiration dates for the NSE 6 and NSE 7 certifications will match those in your respective FCSS certifications.
- If you have an active FCX certification:
- You will be awarded the NSE 8 certification.
- The issue and expiration dates in the NSE 8 certification will match the dates in your FCX certification.
- If you passed the NSE 6 OT Security exam no more than 2 years ago:
- You will be awarded the OT Security industry certification.
- The issue date on your OT Security industry certifications will match the date you passed the exam, with an expiration date 2 years after that.
You might receive additional NSE 4, NSE 5, NSE 6, or NSE 7 certifications based on the July 15 mapping of the new certification requirements and your passed exams that are no more than 2 years old.
