Exam Policy - Exam Results and Score Report

Modified on Fri, 12 Jun at 11:59 AM

The Fortinet Training Institute analyzes exam attempts to verify that exam scores accurately reflect an examinee's pass/fail performance. Score reports are provisional, and exam results are subject to review. Examinees can view their final exam results in their training institute account within 5 to 15 business days after completing the exam. Results under investigation may be delayed. Although decisions are ideally made promptly, investigations and related actions can take time and occur at any point during the validity period of the exam or certification.

Agreement to Exam Policies

Examinees have the opportunity to review and agree to exam policies throughout the examination process, including at the time of exam registration and before the exam begins. Examinees should be familiar with exam policies and the NSE Certification Program Candidate Agreement before scheduling an exam. By registering for and completing an exam, examinees confirm their agreement to exam policies and the Candidate Agreement.

End of Exam Notice

When taking an exam at Pearson VUE, the examinee will receive an on-screen notice confirming that the exam has been successfully delivered and that the result is provisional. Examinees can download their score report from their Pearson VUE account 24 hours after completing the exam, provided the exam was not held for review. For more information, see How can I download my Pearson VUE Examination Score Report? The Fortinet Training Institute account will be updated with the exam result within 5 business days.

Exam Results Review

Exam results may be placed on hold during the review. If this occurs, the examinee's Pearson VUE account will display: Delivery successful, Pass/Fail (Result on hold). Exam results will then be released or voided after the review. If a result is on hold, examinees will receive their exam result in their Pearson VUE account within 5-10 business days of the appointment.

Voided Exams

An exam result is first paused for review and later voided if it fails the review. These checks are part of our efforts to ensure that the exam result is a valid indicator of a candidate's knowledge. If a determination cannot be made from the analysis of  exam data, the exam is voided. There is no score report for a voided exam. A program administrator confirms voided exams. There is no compensation for voided or failed exams. A voided or failed exam can be retaken after the 15-day waiting period.

Score Reports

Score reports list the main topics assessed on an exam. Exam grades are based on overall exam performance, not on individual section performance. Exam subscores are represented in a bar chart based on a 0-100% scale. The results in each section are represented by the proportion of the bar that is filled. If an exam section is not represented by a bar in the chart, this indicates that the examinee answered no questions correctly in that section. Section-based exam results are shown for reference only. A score report indicating a passing grade does not constitute proof of certification.

NSE 8 Practical Exams
Examinees who have completed their NSE 8 practical exam will receive their exam score report by email within 15 business days of completing the exam.

Confidentiality
To protect the confidentiality of our exams and ensure fair treatment for everyone, the Fortinet Training Institute does not discuss exam details or individual performance with examinees.
